The three amounts to compare

Registration covers the initial term of a domain that is available to register. Renewal extends an existing registration. A multi-year initial registration can have its own total, so do not assume it is simply the first-year price multiplied by the number of years.

For a fair comparison, write down the same ending, the same term and the renewal amount for each offer. An advert for a different extension or a bundle with hosting is not the same purchase.

Compare one year with three years

Worked .co.uk example: £9.99 registration + £9.99 renewal + £9.99 renewal = £29.97 over three years at today's annual rates. The initial three-year registration is £25.99, which is £3.98 less on that comparison. This offer applies to new registrations; it does not turn later renewals into three-year promotional renewals.

For three years paid annually, add the initial registration price to two annual renewals at the current advertised rate. Compare that estimate with the complete three-year registration total. Future renewal prices can change; an estimate is not a price guarantee.

A longer initial term can suit a name you plan to keep. A shorter term may suit an early idea with an uncertain future. Paying for more years does not include a website, mailboxes or a promise of search rankings.

What does the domain price include?

A completed NameUK registration gives you the registered name for the chosen term and an account to manage it. The dashboard provides nameserver controls and contact corrections. DNS records can be managed there when the domain uses the supported provider DNS service.

If you point the domain at another DNS host, edit its active DNS records at that host. Buying a domain does not buy a website builder, web hosting, a mailbox or an SSL service from NameUK. Price those services with the provider you choose.

Budget for every name you keep

The matching .co.uk and .uk are two names, with two registration and renewal costs. Add both to your budget if you want both. Decide which will be the main address before connecting a website; a second registration does not automatically forward to the first.

Check the exact spelling and the account owner before paying. NameUK confirms payment and registration separately: a payment confirmation alone is not confirmation that a domain has been registered. Keep the registration confirmation and check the expiry date in your dashboard.

Already registered names and unexpected prices

An unavailable name cannot be bought as a new standard registration through this checkout. Buying from an existing owner is a different transaction. Likewise, a premium or unsupported registrar quote is not covered by an advertised standard registration amount.

If a search or checkout cannot confirm the name or price, choose another available name or contact support with the domain and the message shown. Do not assume a failed check reserved the name. Review the current registration terms, including cancellation information, before proceeding.
