When is my domain registration complete?

A basket or payment confirmation does not mean the domain has been registered. Check the saved order for the separate registration result, then check that the domain appears in your account. If it is pending or needs review, keep the original order reference and check its status before starting another purchase.

Whose details should I use to register?

Use the details of the person or organisation that will own the domain, with an email address and phone number they can access. For a company, enter its legal name and the contact person’s details. Review the owner before payment. Correcting contact details and changing legal ownership are separate actions.

Payment failed, timed out or left me unsure. What next?

Open Orders & billing and the original saved order. Use its payment check or status refresh when available. If a request timed out, payment or registration may still need checking; starting another payment can create a second order. Contact support with the original reference and the error message if the result remains unclear.

My payment is confirmed but my domain is still pending.

Payment and registrar confirmation are shown separately on the saved order. Pending registration means the final registrar result has not yet been confirmed. Refresh that order instead of purchasing the same name again. If it needs support review, include its reference so the original request can be checked.

Where can I check a refund?

Open the original order in Orders & billing. Refunds are shown separately from payment and domain status, including pending or confirmed amounts. A confirmed refund records the payment provider’s result; your bank can take further time to display it. For a pending, partial or review status, send support the order reference rather than starting a new payment.

How do I connect my domain to a website?

Get the exact DNS values from your website host. In your domain’s DNS records, review the root address and www separately. Preserve unrelated email records. If DNS is hosted elsewhere, make the change at that host. Domain registration does not include website hosting or create an HTTPS certificate.

How do I connect domain email without breaking my website?

Create the mailboxes with your email provider, then copy its MX and authentication records exactly. Review existing MX and TXT values before adding or replacing them. Keep website address records in place, and check all services that send mail for the domain. Test receiving and sending after the change.

My DNS change is pending or needs support review.

Check the domain’s change history and refresh its status. An unconfirmed request may already have applied, so do not repeat it while its result needs checking. A confirmed change records the checked DNS-host result at that time; cached answers can still differ. Send support the domain and change reference if the request remains in review.

Why can’t I add a CNAME or import a DNS record?

A CNAME must not share its name with another ordinary record. Check the existing entries and your provider’s instructions before changing an alias. The import review also explains existing values, repeated rows, unsupported types and TTL choices. Only selected, valid records are added; importing does not replace the whole zone or move nameservers.

Which date should I use when planning a renewal?

Use the renewal deadline shown alongside the registry expiry date, and open Renewal to check current eligibility and the quote. Set a reminder before that deadline. If a date is missing or the domain is expired, contact support for the current options instead of assuming a renewal will still be available.

Does saving a card switch on automatic renewal?

Saving a card and giving automatic-renewal permission are separate steps. Review the settings for each domain and the agreement shown before enabling future billing. Check its notices and order history too. A saved preference or payment result does not replace confirmation that the registrar renewed the domain.

What should I check before moving my domain?

Get the receiving registrar’s current instructions for your extension before releasing the domain. Keep a copy of DNS settings and check nameservers, email, expiry and any signing setup. Registrar transfer and DNS-host migration are separate changes. Follow the reviewed instructions in your transfer request; available routes depend on the extension and provider.

Can a transfer affect DNSSEC or my website?

A signed domain needs a plan for its DNS host, public keys and registry delegation. Avoid combining a registrar transfer with a DNS-host move or key change unless both providers have agreed the steps. Keep existing signing information until the verified transition says it can change. The transfer guide explains what to check before authorising the move.

I can’t sign in or have forgotten my password.

Use Forgot your password on the account page and check the mailbox associated with the account. If you have an authenticator, resetting the password leaves it required. Use the current app code or one unused recovery code. If neither is available, contact support; an email enquiry does not automatically unlock the account.

My verification or recovery email hasn’t arrived.

Check the address you entered and your spam or junk folder. Use Resend verification email on the account page if that option is available. Links can expire; request a fresh one rather than sharing an old link. If the message still does not arrive, prepare a support message with the problem and approximate time, without the verification or reset link.

Which UK domain should I choose?

Choose .co.uk for a familiar UK business address, or .uk for a shorter name. .org.uk suits organisations with a public purpose. .me.uk is for individuals. Registering one does not include the others.

Can I buy any UK domain?

Some UK extensions have specific eligibility requirements. Our initial catalogue focuses on .co.uk, .uk, .org.uk and .me.uk. Restricted extensions such as .ltd.uk, .plc.uk, .sch.uk and .net.uk are outside our self-service catalogue.

Will my domain help my website rank on Google?

A clear domain can help people recognise and remember your website. It does not guarantee a search ranking. Useful content, a fast website, crawlable pages and a good user experience remain essential.

What can I manage in my account?

Manage supported DNS records, nameservers, contact details, renewal preferences and dates in your signed-in dashboard. Some advanced actions require support. Explicitly labelled demo controls use fictional browser-local data.

Is the displayed price the renewal price?

Registration and renewal prices are shown separately in GBP for one year. Extensions marked ‘Not on sale’ are not available through checkout. Renewal prices may change before a future renewal; review your new quote before paying.

Do I need hosting to register a domain?

No. A domain is an address; hosting is where your website lives. You can register a name first and later connect it to a website or email provider through DNS.
